Citations in Word 2008

You don’t need to use CitationMachine.com. If you have Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac (or 2007 for Windows) you have a built in citation machine. Read on for how to automatically generate a Woks Cited or Bibliography.
The first step is to gather your sources. Once you have those, open the Toolbox by clicking on the icon in the tool bar. (If you can’t see it, click the oblong button on the right.)

Click the Toolbox button

Click the Toolbox button

Then click the Citations button in the Toolbox.

Then click the plus at the bottom of the window.

Click to add a new source

Then select the source type from the pop-up menu.

Select source type

Select source type

Type in the relevant information, the click OK. A parenthetical citation is automatically inserted at the cursor, and can be inserted by double-clicking the source in the Toolbox.
Now we can generate our Bibliography or Works Cited. Click the Document Elements button under the toolbar.

Select Bibliographies, then either Works Cited or Bibliography. It will be inserted at the cursor location.
You’re all done. Much easier than using citation machine and having to copy and paste each source in my opinion.
